If the software cannot confirm a face, the product should stop, retry within a limit, or hand the decision to a person. Ambiguous matches are not treated as success.

Lighting, devices, user volume, and the cost of error shape thresholds and fallback. Biometric technology development that ignores the room produces a demo, not software.
